Steve Farley Statement on Janus v. AFSCME Ruling
Phoenix, AZ–American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)-endorsed Democratic candidate for Governor Steve Farley released the following statement in response to the Supreme Court’s decision today on the Janus v. AFSCME case.
“The practice of collective bargaining has improved the working conditions of countless American workers, and that right should never be abridged or hindered. I am deeply dismayed by today’s decision, but remain committed to fighting alongside Arizona’s labor table to ensure all employees have the right to address concerns with their employers and demand fair treatment. Our economy and our society depend upon it,” said State Senator and Democratic Candidate for Governor Steve Farley.
Farley has been endorsed by AFSCME as well as the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT), the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers (SMART), and the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAMAW).
