Moms Demand Action Awards Farley Its “Gun Sense Candidate Distinction” in AZ Governor’s Race
Phoenix, AZ–Gun violence awareness group Moms Demand Action awarded Steve Farley its “Gun Sense Candidate Distinction” today in his race for Governor of Arizona.
“I experienced the heartache of gun violence firsthand when my good friend Congresswoman Gabby Giffords was shot in my hometown of Tucson,” said Steve Farley, Democratic candidate for governor of Arizona.
“For far too long, our leaders have accepted the status quo and refused to stand up to the NRA to prevent more tragedies.  During my time in the state legislature, I’ve fought for common sense reform like implementing background checks and installing thumbprint recognition on weapons. We must protect our citizens and the inaction on gun violence stops when I’m governor,” concluded Farley.
Earlier in the year, Farley fought against an NRA-backed plan “school safety planned” proposed by Governor Doug Ducey, arguing the gun lobby’s bill did nothing to protect Arizona’s vulnerable school children.  This marks Farley’s second endorsement this week.
