AZ GOV: According to internal Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research polling (Feb. 23-March 5; 500 voters; +/-4.4%) conducted for state Sen. Steve Farley’s (D) campaign, Gov. Doug Ducey (R) led Farley 49-44 percent. Ducey’s job approval was 41-52 percent compared to Farley’s 15-18 percent favorability.

Farley’s campaign also released its first digital ad on Thursday, which describes his work to build a streetcar in Tucson. A campaign source said a buy was “forthcoming.” (Hotline reporting)

“Ducey said Thursday that teachers aren’t going to get the 20 percent pay hike they are demanding — not now and not in the foreseeable future. … Ducey said the state has increased funding for salaries by about 9 percent since he took office in 2015.” (Capitol Media Services) Former state associate schools superintendent David Garcia (D) “said he supports the demands by teachers for a 20% raise.”
